L’Epée 1839 Grenade Black Raven reference 74.6012/204 is a bold and avant-garde timepiece, merging high horology with military-inspired design. Limited to just 99 pieces, this mechanical grenade-shaped clock embodies L’Epée’s mastery of precision engineering and artistic craftsmanship, offering a unique and thought-provoking way to experience time.  

Crafted from black PVD-coated brass and stainless steel, the Grenade Black Raven has a striking presence, with its design directly inspired by the shape and structure of a real grenade. Measuring 78mm in diameter and 120mm in height, it features a robust yet intricate construction that plays with light and shadow through its matte black surfaces and openworked cage. The time display is elegantly integrated into the design, with two rotating aluminum discs showing the hours and minutes through an aperture, creating an intuitive yet unconventional way to read time.  

At the heart of this kinetic sculpture is a fully mechanical, manually wound movement, developed in-house by L’Epée 1839. Operating at a frequency of 18,000 vibrations per hour (2.5 Hz), it offers an impressive power reserve of 8 days, ensuring extended autonomy and precision. The movement is expertly finished, showcasing L’Epée’s commitment to fine watchmaking, even within a radical and unexpected form.  

Adding to its interactive nature, the grenade-style pin at the top serves as the winding and time-setting mechanism, reinforcing the military aesthetic while offering a tactile and engaging experience. The limited-edition engraving on the base confirms its exclusivity, marking it as one of only 99 pieces available worldwide.
